Board of Directors A volunteer advisory Board was formed in 2005 to help give guidance and carry some of the administrative responsibilities of the Ministry. Current members of this board include: John Alderman is the President of Cornerstone Environmental Resources in Dallas, Texas. John and his wife Carleen live in Lewisville, Texas and have two grown children and five grandchildren. John is part of Lewisville First Presbyterian Church and has played a prominent role in their Juarez outreaches since 1998. John now serves as the vice-president of the Arrow Outreach board. Rev. Brent Barry is the senior pastor at Northpark Presbyterian Church in Dallas and has served in ministry positions at two of our partner churches (First Presbyterian-Dallas and Northridge Presbyterian-Dallas). He is interested in partnerships between schools in Dallas and Juarez. Brent and his wife, Susan, reside in Dallas with their two children. His involvement with the ministry goes back to 1999. Bernd Braun and his wife Lynn live in Coppell, TX and attend Rejoice Lutheran Church in Coppell. They have a blended family with six children and also six grandchildren. Bernd is the administrator of Arrow Outreach's Starfish Scholarship Program. Bernd's involvement with the Juárez ministry started in 2001 and he joined the Board in 2011. David Ellis lives in Van, Texas. He is married and has three grown sons. He owns and operates two outpatient physical therapy clinics in East Texas. David and his wife, Vickie are members of Van United Methodist Church and have been involved in various ministries to youth over the years. David's first involvement with the Juarez ministry was in 1998. David now serves as the treasurer of the Arrow Outreach board. Phil Geleske is the pastor of Rejoice Lutheran Church in Coppell, Texas. Phil resides in Flower Mound with his wife Anna. Anna is principle owner and president of Anna & Friends Salon located in Flower Mound and The Salon Professional Academy located in Lewisville. Phil and Anna have two children, their daughter is a business partner with Anna and their son is a student at Texas Lutheran University. Phil's involvement with Arrow Outreach began when he became the pastor of Rejoice in 2007. Rich Mackey is the Director of Arrow Outreach. He is married to Cheryl and they have three sons. Rich was in the ski resort business from 1970 to 1981. He worked as the Mountain Manager at the Homewood Ski Resort on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, and later at the Squaw Valley Ski Resort at Lake Tahoe as the Administrator and Mountain Operations Manager. In 1982 Rich joined the staff of Mercy Ships serving in several capacities; vice president of finance, manager of the relief and development department and as the administrator for the ministry up until 1992. Rich was becoming increasingly involved with developing a ministry for boys and dads in Ensenada, Mexico. This ministry moved to Juarez, Mexico by December of 1993 and over the next several years the face of the ministry grew and evolved to one focusing on youth, then to families, and even to communities. Other churches began to work with Rich and Cheryl on outreach trips to Juarez and the building of churches, homes and even school buildings. The Advisory Board was formed in 2005 and it was decided that this growing ministry would take on the name "Arrow Outreach". Rich now serves as the president of the Arrow Outreach board. Ken Slack and his wife Betsey live in Dallas and attend Northridge Presbyterian Church in Dallas. They have two grown children. Ken learned about Arrow Outreach through Northridge's first adult mission trip to Juarez in 2003. He has since been active in Northridge's youth and adult mission trips. He sold his engineering sales company in 2000 and has been retired since 2004. Celesta Weise lives in Irving, Texas and attends Presbyterian Church at Hackberry Creek. She serves as her church's liaison to the ministry in Juarez and has been involved since 2001. Celesta is retired from IBM where she spent 30 years in the areas of education and technical management. She also worked as a consultant in that field following her retirement. Celesta now serves as the secretary of the Arrow Outreach board. Liz Zsohar lives in the White Rock Lake area of Dallas and attends First Presbyterian Church in downtown Dallas, being active in their missions area. Liz has served as a math teacher throughout her career, and now tutors math.

To work with the American churches to help them fulfill the calling of Christ to share themselves and their resources with those in need. There are over 600 scriptures mandating our involvement with the poor and those in need. If it is that important to God, He intends for it to be a high priority to us.
