What Others are saying: Our church has been going to Juarez each year now for the past seven years. Since we had never done a mission trip before, we joined other churches for the first two years, and then we felt ready to go on our own. Thanks to Rich Mackey’s leadership and his personal relationships with a growing number of pastors in the Juarez area, our experience has gotten better and better each year. We continue to be amazed at how blessed we are as participants, when our initial expectation was that we would mainly be serving others while there. God’s plan of blessings is truly in effect, and His leadership is obvious. As Henry Blackabee said in his book, Experiencing God, our greatest blessings come from noticing where God is at work, and joining Him there! We’ve found that blessing by partnering with Rich and Arrow Outreach, and we look forward to many more years of sharing in God’s work together in Juarez! - Celesta Weise, Hackberry Creek Church, Irving, TX. Susan and I have been involved in the ministry in Juarez for more than 10 years. We participated with the outreach program at First Presbyterian Lewisville for most of those years, but last year (2008) Susan and I participated with Hackberry Creek Church (and we got to experience another wonderful group of people that love God and His children). Through those years we experienced the joy of serving God, with a bonus of growing in our faith as we were reminded over and over again that He (not me!) is in full control. It's difficult not being there this summer as I miss the interaction with the people there. We're praying for our friends in Juarez, that the violence will finally stop, and that we will be back down there next summer. - Roger Dennison, FUMC Lindale, TX.
Those with whom we partner have a spiritual understanding of God, faith in our heavenly father and dependence on His daily provision that is considerably greater than ours. We will generally learn from them, not teach them in these areas. So many of them literally depend on the application of this verse from the Lord's Prayer, "Give us this day our daily bread."
